The 4,000-square-meter, three-story Green Pyramid Rainforest House and Oceanarium is a facility unique in both Hungary and the Central European region.
The Green Pyramid houses a unique, interactive primeval forest; across its three levels, covering nearly 4,000 square meters, it showcases the wildlife of the Indonesian archipelago and the ocean.
Visitors have two options for exploring the primeval forest: they can take a leisurely stroll along a designated path, or they can venture onto the adventure trail, where they must overcome various obstacles; for example, passing by waterfalls and crossing suspension bridges to reach the third level at the top of the dome, where they can look down into the depths via a glass bridge.
Such unique animals as the Komodo dragon and the Asian elephant can be seen here. In another corner of the pyramid’s ground floor live the world’s largest tree-dwelling mammals, the orangutans. We are very proud of our Bornean orangutans, as the country’s first baby, Ruti, who, once she grew up, traveled to Denmark in the summer of 2022 as part of a species conservation effort to start a family at Aalborg Zoo, and her first offspring was born in 2025.
